“Beginning at a very early age, my search for understanding took a cosmic centered course.  While I was born and raised on a working farm in rural NH with a close, harmonious connection to Nature, I never experienced it as a separate field of objects, rather as a living dimension of ourselves whose conditions of existence had a direct effect on our own, and whose health and abundance was likewise affected by our thoughts and actions. I was a deeply contemplative child and found both singing and writing poetry were means through which I could naturally explore my inner world and express my experience of Nature and myself.  What was for so long bliss, changed with a series of seizures and a fatal neurological diagnosis while in my early teens. But with what I was told was a probable ending, would be the beginning of a life of inner inquiry and human service when I unexplainably survived a rare brain anomaly.  It was my first tangible experience of the unlimited healing and transformational capacities within us, and of an Infinite Source Force or Consciousness expressed as an indescribable radiance which penetrated my whole being.  Knowing nothing of the workings of karma, I felt I had a debt to repay for being given life again, and believed serving in the areas of physical medicine and creating new networks for health care delivery was where I could have the greatest individual and collective effect in lightening and transforming the burden of dis-ease.  After graduating from St. Anselm College with a BSN I began working in traditional medicine as a neurosurgical nurse at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC, while also attending graduate school at Columbia University and pursuing studies in Health Systems Planning and Management. Still it would be that defining moment of all-pervading luminous presence that would eventually draw me beyond the objective and reasoned limits of science in search of understanding and consciously revisiting that state of enlightened capacity and luminously potentiated self. Over two decades practicing Kundalini, Naada and Svaara yoga and meditation had the effect of shifting my interest in the totality of who we are from the physical body to its more subtle dimensions. My love of singing became a more refined use of sound and mantra as tools for evolving my experience of the self and rediscovering with greater awareness and consistency the Light within and in all Nature. These inner changes drew me unexpectedly to the camera as the vehicle through which my devotion to healing and transformation would ultimately manifest.  It has been through my cherished association with Paul Caponigro and his review and support of my work that I have come to understand and accept the responsibility of serving the Light and sharing it with others.

I am a self-taught, intuitively guided Photographer whose work is centered in the forgotten marshes, river banks, fallow fields and coastal inlets of Maine and New Hampshire. I am called by this region’s yet untamed vitality; the way the Earth still speaks there, and I endeavor to project what is universal in the Nature of these spaces rather than any exclusive identity, time, or subject. They are impressions of a convergent reality, formed not by the outer eye, but an inner perception of life as it exists and evolves between the known and the unknown, the material and the immaterial and ever closer to that Light given to light the mind’s understanding of who we are.

Each image I receive is part of a story that subtly challenges and breaks the limited preconceptions of purely physical reality, and operates as a unifying force for those seeking to experience and evolve more of the unknown depths of our human potential. They are outer reflections of inner doors into a world where matter, energy, and Consciousness are integrated in a continuous and perfectly harmonized network of being of which we too are a part.  They are not meant to be the framework of new thought, rather what blows the frame of our past conditioned associations with subjects and liberates the mind to explore more of the unlimited totality of Nature and our own human nature. They engage the familiar in Nature only as the platform for reaching beyond its accepted physical limits, laws of time, gravity, and bounds of separateness; as the point of entry for a deeper view within, closer to the Light of Infinite Consciousness; the unbound subject which unites us all.” –Deborah Goudreault
